Truck Camper Topper Build

I wanted to build a lightweight popup truck camper that I could take back-roading. I decided to build the frame/structure is entirely out of wood and use aluminum composite panels for the doors. I decided to use wood as Aluminum was too expensive when I estimated the materials out.

I used a mesh I found at a local fabric store and ripstop nylon for the pop-up sides. I sowed the fabric with velcro on the sides and top while fastening the bottom to keep rain out.

With the pop-up closed my overall height of my truck is 88 inches and the camper weighs about 600lbs.

Below are some views of the core wood structure to help if you want to customize and build your own!
